The International Low Vision Song Contest is a unique global music competition celebrating the talents of sight-impaired and severely sight-impaired artists. Organised by the German Federation for the Blind and Partially Sighted (DBSV) and VIEWS International, the contest brings together performers from around the world to showcase original music that reflects their lived experiences.
This year, 23 countries will compete in the Grand Final, taking place in Berlin on 16 May 2025. The event will be held in front of a live audience and also livestreamed on YouTube, allowing viewers from around the world to join in.
Submissions are open to all musical genres, and artists of any age may take part, provided they meet the following criteria:
The song must be written or composed by someone with a visual impairment
The song must be original
At least one of the performers must have a visual impairment
The song must include lyrics
All artists must consent to the song’s participation in the contest
Much like Eurovision, each participating country selects a single entry to represent them. Public voting is now open in the UK to decide which of the ten shortlisted artists will represent the nation in this year’s final. Each artist has submitted an original song inspired by personal experiences—ranging from uplifting to deeply moving.
Voting closes on 11 April 2025, with the UK representative to be announced on 13 April. The winning act will go on to perform at the live final in Berlin on 16 May 2025.
